(360-943-3442 for reservations) UPCOMING SECOND SUNDAY WORKSHOPS: July 13: Sword workshop with Charani Description: Charan Oliver, aka Charani, has been belly dancing for 34 years. She was hooked from her first class in San Diego and has been dancing through life ever since. From California to Hawaii, Idaho and Washington, she has met many wonderful women and made many friends. She has been privileged to have studied with many excellent instructors, including Ne Kajira, Suzanna Del Vecchio and Hasani. Charani was a member of the Amaal Dance Ensemble for 16 years and now has her own small performance group, Charani’s Mandali. SWORD WORKSHOP - This workshop will cover -- 1. appropriate costuming and headgear. 2. choosing music 3. basic movement - what works while balancing: on floor, standing, kneeling, spinning 4. duet and troupe work Bring your sword or something to balance (a pot, a cane, a book!) This workshop will help with balancing of all sorts and will enhance your basic dance posture/presence Time: 2:00 - 4:30 pm Location: Shakes Dance Center, 2724 A, Black Lake Blvd., Olympia, WA 98512 (near the archery place) Cost: $35 ($30 if you pay before July 7!)
